MOA will return with our Fall Series, six weekly Tuesday afternoon sessions at the Stratford Country Club, starting 13 October 2026
New Artistic Director Vlad Soloviev has chosen Pushkin and the Russian Soul as the theme for the Fall Series.
The series will begin with a not-to-be-missed live recital by emerging star soprano Emily Rocha, now in her second year as a member of the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio. Vlad himself will accompany her on the piano.

After that, we will explore Alexander Pushkin's connections to opera. Vlad writes:
"Alexander Pushkin's poetry and prose gave rise to some of the greatest masterpieces in Russian opera. Through works of sweeping lyricism, political drama, and profound emotional insight, audiences will encounter the passions, obsessions, and moral struggles at the heart of the Russian tradition.
"The exploration opens with Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky’s deeply human meditation on love, regret, and missed opportunity. Audiences will also experience Aleko, Rachmaninoff’s passionate early setting of Pushkin’s poem The Gypsies, a work filled with sweeping lyricism and emotional intensity. The Fall Series concludes with Boris Godunov, Mussorgsky’s monumental portrait of power, conscience, and the fate of a nation."
The 2027 Winter Series will begin in January 2027
Vlad Soloviev has chosen Goethe in French Opera as the theme for the Winter Series.
"The Winter Series turns toward the enduring influence of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe on French opera. Goethe’s exploration of longing, memory, desire, and transcendence inspired generations of French composers, whose works transformed German literary romanticism into music of extraordinary sensuality and refinement.
"The series features Faust, Gounod’s iconic retelling of Goethe’s immortal drama; Werther, Massenet’s intimate and heartbreaking portrait of impossible love; and Mignon, based on Goethe’s Wilhelm Meister, a work of lyric warmth, nostalgia, and emotional delicacy.
"Presented across twelve afternoon sessions in Stratford, the 2026-2027 Season overall celebrates opera as a meeting place of music, literature, and theatre — where the voices of Pushkin and Goethe continue to resonate through some of the most compelling works ever written for the stage."
