TERRY McKenna

PictureTerry McKenna
Terry offers this autobiographical sketch:

"I am grateful for my youthful experience as a rock guitarist. In fact, it was the Symphonic Rock of the 1960s/1970s – along with the awesome collection of Chopin LPs belonging to my buddy’s mom – that initially sparked my interest in contemporary, classical, romantic, baroque and renaissance guitar music (and their period reproduction instruments). Professor Eli Kassner was my principal classical guitar instructor.

"I love to explore the vast world of guitar music: its many styles, techniques, personas and contexts. And, like most adventures, it's more fun to go with friends! I am privileged to lead this musical quest in the company of my wonderfully enthusiastic guitar students from our base camp at Wilfred Laurier University.

"When not off on these musical voyages, I maintain a busy performing career playing chamber and solo concerts; CD, theatre and television recording; and arranging and composing."
