Carol Smith
Carol Smith’s early piano training was in Stratford with her mother Lou Bailey, Miriam Haines Root, and Kathryn Root (Taussig). She studied with Gwen Beamish at the Banff School of Fine Arts, Pierre Souvairan in Toronto and Geneviève Soly at CAMMAC.
Carol has a Bachelor of Music in History and Literature and a Bachelor of Education, both degrees from University of Toronto. She is music director at Community of Christ Church in Stratford and a member of Stringtet.
Carol has accompanied many local musicians in concerts and music festivals and has accompanied some relatively obscure repertoire in a series of solo informal lecture/recitals: Women’s Work, Frost and Flame, and So Much Music, So Little Time.
Carol Smith welcomes piano students who are interested in exploring the piano repertoire from a perspective of history and style.
