ann reynolds

Ann arrived in Canada in 1977 after having worked in many other parts of the world. She lived and worked in Toronto for her first seven years in Canada, becoming a volunteer with several organisations including the Royal Ontario Museum (where she became a Gallery Interpreter) and the Canadian Opera Company (COC). She was also a volunteer and staff member at Roy Thompson Hall. It was a performance of Norma at the COC with Joan Sutherland and Tatiana Troyanos that began her education in the world of opera.
Moving to Oakville in 1984 to assist in running a small estate, she continued to develop and apply her interest in the Arts. As a member of the Burloak Theatre Group she could be seen on stage and also 'front of house'. As well, she volunteered with the Museum & Historical Society and the Oakville Symphony. In 1985, Ann joined the Oakville Opera Guild (the first Guild formed to support the COC), eventually becoming President of the Guild in 2006. A year later she moved to Stratford.
Retirement in Stratford keeps her busy with interests at the Theatre, the Library, and several other organisations. She gives talks and musical presentations to organisations in the area. Attending Music & Opera programs on a regular basis has given her much pleasure and a greater understanding of the world of opera.
